St.
Catherine's is blessed by eighty young men and women who minister in our
parish as altar servers. We are in the fourth grade and up and find joy
in serving the Lord at the Mass and other liturgical services.

WHAT'S NEW?

Carol Dziubela, Regina Murawski, Lisa Teitz and Carol Svoboda. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our ministry is coordinated by the altar server committee which currently has about fourteen parents. They organize our training, do our scheduling, clean and repair our vestments, and organize our social activities (opening pizza party/retreat, altar server day, and annual trip). On Sunday, February 29th, we had our 2nd annual altar server day at St. Catherine's. We started in the school cafeteria with prayer and a lesson about the Mass. Then we spent some time getting to know each other better. After that, we went to the Church where our pastor, Father Tom, gave us a special blessing and invested us with crosses to wear at Mass. We promised to be faithful altar servers and twenty eight new servers joined us. The Mass was then celebrated by Father Walter and we finished, thanks to the Knights of Columbus, with a reception for our friends |

Find out why some of our young people enjoy being altar servers: “I see altar serving as an honor and a way to strongly express my faith. My mom also says that because I am an altar server I get “special graces.” Most of all I enjoy being an altar server because it is a great way for me to show how much I love Jesus.” “I love to serve God. I wanted to become closer to God. It is a lot of fun when you get the hang of it. My friends are servers and I wanted to become one. The priests are nice.” “I like to help out with the Mass.
